From the blog archives: Barcelona Olympic Stadium 2010

These are some pictures of the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona we took in 2010. Far from being a white elephant, there's a gift shop and a nice little cafe there; so how's that for Legacy?

From the blog archives: Olympia 1991

On holiday in 1991, we found the site where the Olympic flame is kindled. Before we went there I used to think there was a permanent flame there, with maidens in white shrouds being mysterious. I don't think I'd thought it through very well.

The blog at the site of the original Olympic stadium. As with Stratford, the corporate hospitality boxes have yet to be built, but the parking looks OK

Wanstead High School's Mr Wilcox's Olympic Games tune

As performed at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Redbridge Music Festival.

The School is running a campaign to get the anthem played at the Olympics at some point. Think it might be a bit of a downer to be honest.

From the blog archives: April 09

By June 2009 the Olympic stadium seems almost finished...

In January 2009 the planning notices are still up

And the stadium itself begins to appear

From the blog archives: June 2008

The fence has gone up and building has started

From the blog archives: Jan 2007

By this time, they'd put up planning application notices

From the Blog archives: Jan 2006

To be honest, not much had changed

From the blog archives: July 2005

These are some pictures we took a few days after the announcement in July 2005. I think we were a bit confused about where the Stadiun was going to be.
