Day 4

Miriam here. Just posting to say quite how exciting the Men's C1 Canoe Slalom Final has been, despite the abscense of GB's David Florence who went out in the semi.
If anyone's interested, the result was:
Gold- Tony Estanguet FRA 97.06
Silver- Sideris Tasiadis GER 98.09
Bronze- Michael Martikan SVK 98.31

T at work and Pat at the OP today, no tickets.

Day 3: Around the Olympic Park with Miriam

TV's Jake Humphrey

And here's Mims in shot behind Jake. I've tried to slow down the bit with M in. She's lurking behind the blonde in the Union Flag T-shirt that the cameraman inexplicably zooms in on

Day 3: The Archers at Lord's Cricket Ground

Your Day 3 host

Your host on the hallowed Lord's turf, pretending to make a catch at Long On, to comic effect

The Pavilion at Lord's, overshadowed by the Archery Stadium

A British Win! This is Team GB's Larry Godfrey winning his Round Two match, to great acclaim from we crazy archery fanatics

The announcer bloke said that there were two other locations in London that were hosting archery. He told us what they were. Do you want to know?

OK here goes...

Bow and Harrow

*holds head in shame*

Day 2: Sunday July 29th: Men's Individual Sabre at the ExCeL Arena

This is Aron Szilagyi from Hungary with his Individual Sabre Gold Medal at the Excel Arena

And this is Nikolai Kovalev of Russia collapsing into the arms of his coaches after winning the Bronze medal match

Next to the ExCeL is the mis-named 'Pleasure Gardens', which is a bit like a Fan Park except with no fans. We watched a bit of the White Water canoeing there on the big screen.

After the fencing we watched 'Team GB' in the football there, accompanied by a quiet pint, which only cost five quid. In fact it wasn't even a pint it was a half litre, so even better value.

In other news, and in fact more exciting than any of the above, Pat saw Sir Paul and Lady Nancy McCartney walking in the Olympic Park yesterday! Just strolling around in a baseball hat and sunglasses, just like he was a normal human being!

Saturday July 28th: Cycling Road Race

As watched by Miriam at the Mall today. This isn't the winner, I'm afraid

Opening Ceremony: Friday July 27th

These are pictures Pat took at the rehearsal on Monday, but we did not put up so as to 'save the secret'

This is the Red arrows flyiong over the stadium, as seen from our house!
You can just see the smoke as a line above the roofline

These are the searchlights over the stadium, as seen from our house!

Meanwhile at Victoria Park, they were showing a relay of Sir Paul ripping into Hey Jude. Instead of joining in, most people seem to be leaving, don't they?

The nerve centre of the London 2012 Olympic Games

No really, it is. It's the second floor coffee point in the International Broadcast Centre

And here is your genial host...

(When he lets me, I will put up a photo of the excellent pyramid of coffee cups that Timothy makes to while away the hours between customers)

And here is early dawn over the Park, at 6-30 am when the IBC opens

The Flame at St Pauls

... as seen by Miriam this morning. It's carried by a bloke with long white hair just to the left of centre

Here are the rings at Tower Bridge, very 'iconic' I'm sure you'll agree...

Danny Boyle

Not sure who that is with him. Danny's unfortunately not famous enough to have his photo taken with Pat.

Greenwich prepares..

These are some of the thousands of seats they have in Greenwich. Seems loads of them given that there is only horsing going on there. They are all miles in the air and are open to the elements so it will be horrible if/when it rains.

As part of the security blanket there's an aircraft carrier at Greenwich. Which is very re-assuring..

It's not Olympics-related, but it is The Boss

At Hyde Park, Saturday July 14th
