(Miriam here. The race walk was weird, I don't know how the walkers resist the temptation to run when they're just behind somebody they want to overtake. And what this picture doesn't show is that I was surrounded by a group of very very loud and quite intimidating Chinese people, who yelled the Chinese equivalent of "COME OOOOON!!" when any Chinese walkers- like the ones in the picture below- went past. There were loads of them and they were barging the rest of us out the way, it was a bit scary.)
